Strategy is All About Choices

There is an ancient allegory of a Native American grandfather speaking with his young grandchild. He states, "There are two wolves fighting inside of me: one is the wolf of love and peace, the other is the wolf of anger and war."

"Which one will win?" asked the inquisitive grandchild.

"Whichever one I feed," replied the grandfather.

To parallel today's global business world, all of the complexities of problem solving and business solutions can be boiled down to one simple equation:

Choice = Strategy.

I was curious to know how many definitions of "Strategy" there are, and rather than go the Webster route (which seems so dated) I decided to be more conventional. I used Google. To my surprise, I got 48,300,000 results! I'm not sure if each of these offered a different definition of what "Strategy" is, but just glancing through the various selections of links, there appears to be a disharmony of opinion about what "Strategy" really means.

The most popular of Najera Consulting Group's services is Strategic Planning. We assist clients in developing and implementing strategies that contribute to their self-sufficiency and long-term sustainability. We offer our clients a new mindset of doing things when problems cannot be solved within the organization itself. And those who have followed our suggestions, per the process, have experienced elevated growth and a new way of thinking about their organization. These clients are often surprised at the simplicity of our strategy development process.

The simplicity is in how we define strategy. The Najera Consulting team defines "Strategy" as the choices, priorities, areas of focus and direction an organization takes to fulfill its mission (the reason an organization exists). Once this is made, it is a matter of being disciplined and providing the necessary resources to your chosen path.
