Non-Profit Strategies for Success

Stop Working So Hard & Not Getting the Results You Desire!

Instead, we invite you and your team to get enthusiastic again about your vision and goals. Working more strategically and mission focused will help put your social impact goals within arm's reach and keep you from feeling bogged down with the day-to-day tactics that are preventing your organization from achieving long-term success.

Strategies for Success is Najera Consulting Group's premier service. We work closely with you in a one-on-one partnership to develop, clarify and implement high objective strategies that are aligned with your mission. Our collaborative process will allow your non-profit to achieve a competitive advantage in the midst of a rapidly changing funding environment, and create long-term social impact.

If you're like most non-profit leaders, you want to quickly discover and work on the root causes of the problems your non-profit is facing and plan out long-term goals for success, but you're too strapped for time. You may not even know the right questions to be asking. Indeed, you're likely faced with the following challenges that the Strategies for Success program is designed to address:

The Three Most Persistent Problems Plaguing Leaders in Non-Profit Organizations Today

1. Attracting Sustainable Funding Resources

In today's non-profit environment, "selling" your mission to attract funding resources can be challenging. Funders (i.e. social investors) often frown upon non-profits that lack a solid strategy and can show that they have the right program logic models & business plans in place to successfully serve their mission. You may also find that your non-profit is limited in its ability to achieve significant social impact (much less define it), which makes it more difficult to attract sustainable funding resources.

2. Board Related Issues

Filling board positions is only half the battle – getting Board Members to really understand their strategic roles and responsibilities and to commit to govern and steer the organization are common problems within a non-profit. Other issues are that boards either micro-manage or macro-lead. We are all familiar with micro-managing. Macro-leading is when leaders get so focused on setting strategy and vision that they remove themselves from the front lines, thereby developing a vision & strategy for the organization so out of touch that the rest of the organization fails to buy in, or worse buys in but is incapable of taking any steps toward realization.

3. Your too strapped for time to think about the important details of your non-profit and are bogged down with the day-to-day

More often than not, today's problems are center-stage; they grab your attention. You find yourself missing opportunities because there is no time to plan for them. You are pre-occupied with the ongoing operational problems to be able to think clearly about the future of your non-profit.

What You Really Want Instead

If you're like most non-profit leaders, you desire making a difference thru your mission, sustainable funding, the pride and accomplishment of working together with your team, the ability to overcome challenges and the potential to reach your goals.

In Other Words, You Want To:

  • Stop feeling overwhelmed and start feeling a sense of clarity about how your mission is being accomplished. Quickly define your organizations' internal and external strategic issues. Re-evaluate the relevance of your mission against the ever-changing environment. Gain a sense of purpose, direction and a clear strategic plan for your entire team
  • Gain a better understand of what is working and not working within your non-profit. Don't waste time, energy and resources by working on the wrong issues. Get a sense of what's working and not from a theory of action, program and strategic perspective.
  • Stop operating in a hand-to-mouth financial existence. Demonstrate your non-profit's Return on Investment and attract new and sustainable funding resources
  • Have a solid foundation in place to seize new opportunities. Strengthen your non-profit's ability to change and adapt when opportunities arise. Achieve positive results that are long lastingCreate and develop solid evidence based program logic models and mission oriented strategies that have significant social impact

These objectives are not only possible, they are within arm's reach!
